PHOENIX Club are the new leaders of the Wycombe & Amersham Darts League.
Phoenix soared to the summit of Division One after thrashing Winchmore Hill CC 13-1 in week 14’s action.
The margin of their victory was enough to see them climb a point ahead of Penn & Tylers Green SC despite the previous leaders winning a high-quality game against Hazlemere CC 8-6.
Jason Hine and Darran Hoare both hit 180s for Penn and Dan Franzen produced the outshot of the night for the victors, a 117 in his singles win over Dean Jordan.
Hazlemere battled all the way though, with Jordan having earlier hit two maximums during his win in the pairs.
Eric Harper was another player in great form, hitting three 180s, for his Riverside Club side in their match against Holmer Green Legion.
Dave Farthing replied with a maximum of his own for Holmer but Riverside won 8-6 to stay third.
Cressex CC C now lead Division Two by 13 points after they beat Judo Club 9-5 while nearest pursuers Holmer Green Legion C were crashing 10-4 by an inform Marsh Legion.
Cressex CC E are a further seven points adrift after their tough start to 2017 continued with a 7-7 draw against Holmer Green Legion B.
At the other end of the table, the Squirrel’s improvement continued as they beat Bourne End 11-3 to register their second win of the season.
