They made short work of Thame Town, who had inserted them with rain around.

Ed Bowcock and Bruce Friderichs provided the ideal start, though, in adding 42 and a series of contributions down the order were led by skipper Andy Viney, maintaining his fine form with a battling 64, before the weather cut short proceedings at 45 overs.

That left Thame’s target at 234 but they were constrained by a tight start from Alex Lines and Sam Helm.

Inroads came from Maduka Liyanapathiranage (4-36) while Stuart Rogers not only finished with 4-22 but claimed three catches too as the reply was wrapped up in 39.4 overs, maintaining the 100% record.

The only other Division Two match to finish was Chesham’s win at Shipton under Wychwood. The visitors were moving along nicely at 132-3 from 30 overs, Matt Rance (31) and Luke Webb (50) providing early substance, before the first of several heavy storms forced off the players for three hours.

A target of 153 in 20 overs was set but Shipton never got going against Jason Rance (2-9) and Pip France, finishing at 128-5 to give Chesham their second win in as many games.
