THE Chal­font BC trio of Rose Kirby, Mau­reen Hard­ing and Candi Ivey placed sec­ond out of 24 at the Che­sham Gala last week, mark­ing the start of a fruit­ful week for the club.

The team of Denise Rogers, Liz Bald­win, Pam An­der­son and Tim Bald­win went one bet­ter by win­ning the Chess­vale Gala, beat­ing Wad­des­don BC by one point. The end of sea­son friendlies were con­cluded with a 74-59 win over Court Park be­fore a 56-43 de­feat of Rosedale Park.

The week con­cluded with the Fi­nals Week­end for the club’s in­ter­nal com­pe­ti­tions. Linda James, Mor­gan Ka­vanah and Hazel Baker made it three wins in three years in the mixed triples, be­fore Baker went on to win the 2-wood sin­gles and the ladies sin­gles the day af­ter. Club cap­tain Mike Alder­ton took the men’s fi­nal ti­tle, be­fore he and Baker teamed up to win the mixed pairs event.

The men’s pairs was won by Ian McLeod and Joe Jaquest while the ladies pairs went to Joyce Cripps and Rose Kirby. Barry Mills won the novice sin­gles. Baker, along with Chris Pound and Joyce Cripps, clinched an­other vic­tory in the ladies triples on Sun­day, with the gents triples be­ing won by Roger Dar­bourne, Joe Jaquest and Al­lan Rumble. Baker then com­pleted her un­beaten week­end by win­ning the club cham­pi­onship.

Tim and Liz Bald­win won the Aus­tralian pairs to bring the week­end to a close.
