Presented for your approval

Buckinghamshire Advertiser - - WHAT’S ON -

Amersham Playgoers Theatre Group is honoured to present ‘A Chorus of Disapproval’ by Alan Ayckbourn.

The play will take place from Thursday November 30 to Saturday December 2 at Amersham’s Drake Hall.

Staring 17 members of the drama group, including Chairman, Ros Thomas, as Rebecca H-Pike and Ian Reed as Guy Jones, A Chorus Of Disapproval is set around the rehearsals for an amateur production of John Gay’s ‘The Beggar’s Opera’.

The plot, which is interwoven with and reflects the action of the play, opens with an apparently triumphant performance of The Beggar’s Opera starring Guy Jones in the lead role of Macheath.

But is everything as wonderful as it seems?

A Chorus of Disapproval follows on from The Lady in the Van which the group staged in May of this year.

It comes one year after a hugely successful musical showing of The Wizard of Oz, the culmination of the groups 70th anniversary celebrations.

The Playgoers are thrilled to invite audiences to their latest production and anticipate a high level of interest from the community in, what is sure to be, a hilarious version of a well-loved play.

Tickets cost £11 and can be purchased online at tickets.
