Piglets make the perfect pets

They’re hypoallergenic and you don’t even need to take them home

OWNERS of an Amersham farm is waiting expectantly.

Two of Kew Little Pigs’ sows are heavily pregnant so new piglet additions are due to arrive very soon.

The micro pig business was thrown into doubt last year when it was evicted from the land it had been leasing.

But at the eleventh hour a new home for the animals was found at Old Amersham Farm in School Lane, Amersham.

The company breeds and sells micro pigs, which, it says, make perfect pets as they are hypoallergenic – ideal for those who have allergies to dog or cat fur.

But it also offers an adoption service for those unable or unwilling to make the commitment to having a pet at home.

A spokesman for the farm said: “We know it is not realistic for everyone to own a pig – even though the idea is fab. Kew Little Pigs offers an adoption service for those unable to keep a pig at their home – you’ll have the chance to come to our farm to spend some time with your piggy friend.

“Micro pigs as pets are becoming a real trend, and for the right reasons - they are hypoallergenic for those with allergies and are simple and easy to keep and maintain. In most cases they do not need to be walked and are quite self sufficient- for those who are worried about leaving their pets while at work.”
