THIS dalek was just one of the special guests at a book signing in Chesham.

On Saturday October 17 JPS Stationers hosted a signing of Jolly Quickly The Jumping Bean Goes Under The Sea, written by Susan Lacey, illustrated by Nicolas Milano and designed by Adrian Lacey.

The books are aimed at children up to the age of six.

It is the third in the Jolly Quickly series and the second book to feature a foreword by Doctor Who actor Katy Manning.

Adrian Lacey said: “Katy Manning has been so supportive of the these childrens books aimed at nought to six years of age.

“She has shown such faith in these books and wishes the books such success.

“It has been a real incentive to get these books into the world.”

The full-size dalek was just one of the guests, along with the Mayor of Chesham Emily Culverhouse, Mimi Harker OBE and comedian Alex Horne.

The event raised money for St Francis Hospice via collection by the Dalek.

Jolly Quickly The Jumping Bean Goes Under The Sea is available from all good book stores.
