Have your say on future development
Work starts on draft neighbourhood plan for Gerrards Cross
Residents are invited to have their say at a drop-in event at the Guide Hut in Station Road, next to Waitrose, between 10.30am and 3.30pm on Saturday November 11.
Issues covered will include local shops and developing disused premises in the town centre, and aspects of infrastructure including parking, improving local transport and providing more cycle paths.
Housing is an important issue but so is protecting the green spaces of Gerrards Cross.
People will also be asked about how to pro- vide adequate healthcare, sports and leisure facilities.
Once a draft neighbourhood plan has been created, residents will be asked to vote in a referendum for it to become a legal document.
If adopted, the plan must then be consulted whenever an application for planning permission is made in the future.
A spokesman for Gerrards Cross Neighbourhood Plan Group said: “It is vital that we all have a say in the development of our local area so that we maintain some control and protect what makes Gerrards Cross such a pleasant place to live.
“What you tell us now will make a real difference.”
