Pedes­trian killed in lorry col­li­sion

AN el­derly woman died af­ter be­ing struck by a lorry on Mon­day morn­ing (Novem­ber 6).

Thames Val­ley Po­lice is ap­peal­ing for wit­nesses fol­low­ing the col­li­sion in Chal­font St Peter.

The in­ci­dent took place at about 10.40am in Mar­ket Place.

The 71-year-old pedes­trian was pro­nounced dead at the scene and her next of kin have been in­formed.

No ar­rests have been made and po­lice ap­pealed for wit­nesses.

In­spec­tor Scott Long of the joint op­er­a­tions unit for roads polic­ing said on Mon­day morn­ing: “We are at the scene of the col­li­sion in which a woman sadly died and an in­ves­ti­ga­tion into the cir­cum­stances is tak­ing place.

“Road clo­sures are in place and I would ask peo­ple to avoid the area.
