River­side im­press with Chal­lenge win

THE first week of the Wy­combe & Amersham Darts League started with the Chal­lenge Cup and Bowl com­pe­ti­tions.

The Chal­lenge Cup saw the River­side Club A take on Holmer Green Le­gion A in a tight game.

It was River­side that took the vic­tory, win­ning 5-3, with Phil Bur­ton hit­ting a 180 for the River­side and Andy Par­rin hit­ting a 117 out­shot for the Holmer Green side.

Judo Club, pro­moted to Divi­sion One, en­ter­tained Ha­zle­mere and found out it's go­ing to be a tough sea­son as the fell to a 5-2 de­feat in the Cup.

The re­main­ing match in the Chal­lenge Cup saw Penn & Tyler's Green take on last year's Divi­sion Two win­ners, Winch­more Hill A.

In a qual­ity match, it was the Penn side that took the win, win­ning 5-3 with Ja­son Hine hit­ting two 180s and Matt Stone also hit­ting a 180 for the Penn side.

The Bowl com­pe­ti­tion saw wins for Cres­sex C over Holmer Green Le­gion C, River­side Club B 6-2 over Cres­sex E, while new boys Lane End were 6-2 win­ners over Winch­more Hill B.
