CHILTERN Harriers had a fine day at the National Road Relay Championships at Sutton Park, Sutton Coldfield, on Saturday.
Four of the five age group A teams finished in the top 10 and both U13s teams won silver medals.
In the U13 boys, Euan Pinder led off for the A team and ran well for 18th place in 14.16 on the 3.88k circuit common to all age groups.
Thomas Redmond finished in second place in a great time of 13.22. Leon Doran was able to keep hold of second with a mature run of 14.12.
The B team also did well, Rowan Gawne (14.54), Max Baxter (14.30), and Archie Pinder (15.50) finishing in 29th place from the 64 complete teams. The C team of Sammy Bennetts (15.06), Isaac Jessop-Tranter (16.40) and Freddie Emery (16.55) finished 52nd.
In the U13 girls, Frankie Baxter confirmed her good early season form and finished in second place on leg one in 14.09.
Ella Botha took the lead on leg two with 14.52 and Lesedi Nkoane held onto second on leg three with 14.40.
The B team saw Maddie Hughes (15.23), Ellie Shield (16.46) and Savarnah Pandya (18.02) finish 34th from 46 teams.
The U15 girls finished fifth at the Southern Relays in September.
Orla Williams took on the first leg and ran well for 12th place in 14.17. Holly Henderson (14.41) moved up to fourth and Abbie Henderson (14.33) consolidated that position.
The U15 boys’ A team of Finn O’Brien (13.52), Nathan Hackley (13.03) and Louis Peterson (13.06) ran well to finish 13th from the 68 teams.
The B team of Charlie Stone (14.08), James Watson (14.00), and Jamie Carruthers (14.11) did well for 38th.
The U17 Men’s race saw the A team run well for ninth out of 58 teams. Angus Williams led off with a good run of 12.10 for eighth place. Alex Johnson ran 12.35 to finish ninth and Tommy Davies (12.29) consolidated their place.
