LAURA Graves has become the first from the Ivanhoe Runners club to earn the coveted Abbots Major Six Star medal.

By competing in the Chicago Marathon last weekend, Graves completed the full set of the six major marathons in the world - London in 2014, Boston in 2015, Tokyo and New York in 2016 and then Berlin in September this year, only three weeks before Chicago.

Her medal was awarded to her by Paula Radcliffe, who is still the holder of the women’s world record for the 26-mile distance.

Graves has battled injury after injury over the years but kept coming back to do another marathon and her determination and hard worked has paid off.

She was thrilled to round off the last race at Chicago in four hours and 20 minutes.

Andy Lindley, another serial marathoner, ran his 26th marathon at Chicago and was very happy to finish in 3:30, despite his jet lag.
