Le Tissier may stop wearing BLM badge

The Daily Telegraph - Business - - Sport - By Ben Rumsby

Matt Le Tissier is “reviewing” whether to wear a Black Lives Matter badge on Sky Sports over the movement’s policy of “defunding the police and ending capitalism”.

The Southampton icon, who has donned the badge on Sky’s Soccer

Saturday programme, said he had spoken to his boss about not wanting to promote a “far left ideology”.

Black Lives Matter’s adoption of the slogan “defund the police” – which it stresses is about reallocating money toward non-policing forms of public safety – has caused controversy. Responding to a message on Twitter which read: “If you are central why wear a badge promoting a far left ideology?” Le Tissier wrote: “That’s a good point and one which I’ve made to my boss.”
