Chris Froome’s mooted switch to Israel Start-Up Nation will not happen, although it is not clear if the 35-year-old will race in this year’s Tour de France for Team Ineos. Froome is desperate to win a record-equalling fifth title in September, but British team Ineos also have Egan Bernal and Geraint Thomas – the last two winners of the Tour – in their ranks. Sources have told The Daily Telegraph that Ineos principal Sir Dave Brailsford would rather leave Froome out of his Tour line-up, than allow him go to a rival team.
