Sabri Lamouchi calls this stage of the season “the money time” and the riches of the Premier League remain tantalisingly in sight for Nottingham Forest.

Lamouchi’s first season in English football could yet have a memorable ending as Forest lifted themselves back into fourth place, after a wonderful Tiago Silva goal.

The Portuguese midfielder cemented Forest’s place in the playoffs with a brilliant free-kick that left Bristol City’s own top-six hopes appearing remote.

City defender Ashley Williams was shown a red card late in the contest, after appearing to elbow full-back Yuri Ribeiro in the throat.

Lamouchi said: “We are having a fantastic season, but we must stay focused to the end.”

Lee Johnson, the City manager, said: “It’s soul-destroying we’ve come away without any points.”
