New Macclesfield threat
Macclesfield are facing a renewed threat of relegation. They avoided the drop from League Two by one point after an independent disciplinary commission ruled last month they should be docked two points over non-payments of wages. But English Football League chairman Rick Parry could contest that decision after complaints from a number of League Two clubs that the penalty was too lenient. A harsher sanction would reprieve Stevenage, who finished bottom.
