Cop­per near to eras­ing its losses for the year

Cop­per is edg­ing closer to eras­ing this year’s losses as de­mand picks up and pro­duc­ers re­duce out­put. Cerro Colorado, a cop­per mine in Chile, was the first to cut pro­duc­tion af­ter BHP an­nounced yes­ter­day that it would sig­nif­i­cantly scale back. Cop­per rose as high as $6,120 a ton, less than 1pc be­low where it started the year.
