In­done­sia’s Lion Air is ax­ing 2,600 jobs as the coro­n­avirus pan­demic con­tin­ues to wreak havoc at south­east Asia’s largest car­rier. The lay­offs, which rep­re­sent about 9pc of the air­line’s 29,000 em­ploy­ees, would mainly af­fect con­tract work­ers, it said. The job cuts come af­ter the com­pany re­duced man­age­ment and staff salaries ear­lier this year.
