Mid­dles­brough gained a sec­ond win un­der new man­ager Neil Warnock – a nig­gly 2-0 vic­tory at Millwall – as they climbed out of the bot­tom three.

Britt As­som­ba­longa’s eighth league goal of the sea­son and a late Ash­ley Fletcher penalty se­cured the three points but the hosts claimed Fletcher ap­peared to foul Jake Cooper in the build-up to the opener.

Swansea strength­ened their play-off claims with a 3-1 win at Birm­ing­ham. Lukas Jutkiewicz put the home side in front be­fore on­loan Liver­pool for­ward Rhian Brew­ster, Ben Ca­bango and Jay Ful­ton turned the game on its head.
