Great Bri­tain men and women will re­turn to ac­tion in Oc­to­ber af­ter a break of more than six months. They will face dou­ble-head­ers against Hol­land and Bel­gium as the re­main­ing FIH Hockey Pro League fix­tures are com­pleted, fol­lowed by home games against Ger­many in mid-Novem­ber. Next sum­mer Bri­tain have fix­tures against In­dia, China and Ar­gentina, fol­lowed by the United States and Spain.

Rugby Union

Scot­land in­ter­na­tional Sean Mait­land has signed a new two-year deal with Sara­cens. The 31-year-old had been linked with a move away from the club af­ter they were rel­e­gated to the Cham­pi­onship for re­peated salary cap breaches. How­ever, the wing, who has 48 Scot­land caps, will be part of Mark McCall’s side in the sec­ond tier and is con­tracted with the north Lon­don side un­til 2022.

Rugby League

For­mer Man of Steel Danny Brough has agreed a two-year deal with Betfred Cham­pi­onship side Brad­ford. The Wake­field half-back will switch to the Bulls at the end of the 2020 sea­son af­ter more than 400 ap­pear­ances in Super League. Brough, 37, who faced Brad­ford in March dur­ing a Chal­lenge Cup tie, said: “I am hop­ing I can try and bring a win­ning men­tal­ity and great at­ti­tude to the side.”
