Rodgers rues first half but in­sists: We can still qual­ify

Bren­dan Rodgers in­sisted he and his Le­ices­ter City play­ers had not given up on Cham­pi­ons League qual­i­fi­ca­tion, de­spite a dam­ag­ing de­feat by Tot­ten­ham Hot­spur.

Le­ices­ter’s qual­i­fi­ca­tion is now in doubt ahead of their fi­nal game of the sea­son against Manch­ester United, who can over­take them in the top four if they beat West Ham on Wed­nes­day.

But Rodgers be­lieves he can lift his play­ers for the United clash and said: “It was al­ways go­ing to go down to the last game and we have a shot to get into the Cham­pi­ons League. The play­ers will have a cou­ple of days’ rest, then fo­cus on the next game. It will be a fan­tas­tic game and we can look for­ward to it.
