Volvo ex­pects sec­ond half car sales bounce­back

Volvo ex­pects de­mand for its cars to bounce back in the sec­ond half of the year, with the Swe­den-based, Chi­ne­se­owned busi­ness giv­ing one of the sec­tor’s most pos­i­tive out­looks. The com­pany, which is owned by Geely, re­ported sales down 14.1pc to 111.8bn Swedish krona (£9.8bn), driv­ing it to a 989m op­er­at­ing loss.
