Aus­tralia kick-off World Cup in Hull

Aus­tralia will be­gin the de­fence of their ti­tle against Fiji in Hull at the 2021 World Cup.

The 2017 cham­pi­ons’ first match will take place on the evening of Satur­day, Oct 23, at the KCOM Sta­dium.

Hosts England open the tour­na­ment against Samoa at St James’ Park on the same day, with a 2.30pm kick-off. They will then face France at the Univer­sity of Bolton Sta­dium on Oct 30, be­fore tak­ing on debu­tants Greece at Bra­mall Lane in their fi­nal Group A match on Nov 6.

Scot­land’s cam­paign be­gins against Italy at Kingston Park, New­cas­tle,

on Oct 24 – the same day Ire­land meet Ja­maica at Head­in­g­ley.

Scot­land’s Group B show­down with Aus­tralia takes place at Coven­try’s Ri­coh Arena on Oct 29, and they face Fiji in New­cas­tle on Nov 6.

Wales face the Cook Is­lands in Leigh on Oct 27, Tonga on Nov 1 and Pa­pua New Guinea a week later.

Ire­land meet 2008 cham­pi­ons New Zealand at Head­in­g­ley on Nov 5. The fi­nal is at Old Traf­ford on Nov 27.

In the women’s World Cup, England take on Brazil at Head­in­g­ley on Nov 9. They also face Pa­pua New Guinea and Canada in Group A.
