US air­line book­ings stall amid volatile demand

Amer­i­can Air­lines and South­west Air­lines have warned third-quar­ter flight sched­ules will be hit by a rise in virus cases. Book­ings stalled in July, South­west said, as it vowed to “ag­gres­sively” al­ter its sched­ule to match volatile demand. Amer­i­can said seat­ing would be down 60pc this quar­ter com­pared with last year.
