Home cooking is tasty for Mr Kipling owner
◆ Mr Kipling owner Premier Foods hailed a jump in sales during its first quarter as households continued to cook at home during lockdown,
The group, which also owns Bisto gravy and Angel Delight, reported a 22.5pc sales rise in the 13 weeks to June 27, bolstered by strong demand for grocery brands such as Oxo and Sharwood’s.
Premier Foods said sales within its grocery division soared 39pc as two million new households bought its Sharwood’s cooking sauces and curry pastes.
The company said second-quarter sales had seen a strong start but admitted this was likely to normalise over the coming months as people started to eat out at restaurants again.
