Co-op Bank takes £11.2m Covid hit and widens loss

The Co-op­er­a­tive Bank has taken an £11.2m hit from the health cri­sis, widen­ing its loss for the first half. It said its pre-tax loss reached £44.6m over the six months as it took the im­pair­ment charge – £6.1m worse than the same pe­riod last year. It has lent money to around 6,000 firms through the Bounce Back and CBILS pro­grammes.
