In­surer RSA buoyed by fewer mo­tor­ing claims

A fall in mo­tor ac­ci­dent claims helped in­surer RSA off­set the cost of pro­vid­ing re­bates to cus­tomers and a surge in busi­ness in­ter­rup­tion claims dur­ing the pan­demic. The FTSE 100 firm re­ported pre-tax prof­its of £211m in the first half of the year, down 7pc on the same pe­riod last year as volatile financial mar­kets hit in­vest­ment in­come.
