Weaver: Harrogate’s dreams have come true
Harrogate Town manager Simon Weaver admitted the club’s promotion to the English Football League for the first time in their history was “an unbelievable experience”.
The Yorkshire club secured victory in the National League play-off at Wembley thanks to
George Thomson’s early opener, Connor Hall’s second and Jack Diamond’s goal with 20 minutes left. Neal Ardley’s Notts County had pulled a goal back through Callum Roberts’ superb free-kick.
“It’s a dream come true,” Weaver said. “It’s an unbelievable experience today. The lads deserve it and all the backroom staff as well. Everyone has played an important role. We feel like a force at this level.”
