The resched­uled 2020 In­dian Premier League will take place in the United Arab Emi­rates and run from Sept 19 to Nov 10, sub­ject to nec­es­sary clear­ances from the In­dian gov­ern­ment. The tour­na­ment had been sched­uled to start on Mar 29 but it was sus­pended due to the coron­avirus pan­demic. The three-team Women’s T20 Chal­lenge will take place in the UAE as well.

Hockey

Alex Dan­son-Ben­nett, the for­mer Great Bri­tain cap­tain, will re­turn to the game as a coach with Wim­ble­don Women. The 35-year-old re­tired in Fe­bru­ary, two years on from suf­fer­ing a mild trau­matic brain in­jury af­ter hit­ting her head on a con­crete wall. She said: “I’ve missed com­pet­i­tive hockey im­mensely and can­not wait to join the women in their Pre­mier­ship campaign.”

Su­per­bikes

Scott Red­ding, the Bri­ton com­pet­ing in his first World Su­per­bikes Cham­pi­onship, won both of the two fea­ture races in Jerez. The 27-yearold, who won last year’s Bri­tish Su­per­bike Cham­pi­onship, tri­umphed in the Su­per­pole sprint opener and then over­hauled the early leader Jonathan Rea in race two to come home 2.4 sec­onds ahead of Welsh­man Chaz Davies.
