Accor to cut 1,000 jobs in €200m cost-saving plan
Accor, Europe’s biggest hotel group, has announced plans to lay off 1,000 staff as part of a €200m (£180m) cost-saving plan. It came as lockdown measures and border closures to tackle the coronavirus pandemic weighed on its first-half results. Revenue fell by 52pc to €917m. In the UK, “revpar” tumbled 64.8pc in London, and 63.5pc in the rest of the country.
