Hampshire overcome second freak injury
Bowler Ryan Stevenson had to be carried off the pitch at Radlett yesterday as Hampshire suffered their second freak injury in two days in the match with Middlesex.
Having seen all-rounder Liam Dawson suffer a tendon injury when he fell awkwardly on Sunday, Hampshire yesterday lost seamer Stevenson when he skidded into a pitchside marquee and gashed his shin on one of the supporting poles.
Felix Organ stepped into the breach with figures of four for 42 as the home side were dismissed for 201 to leave Hampshire chasing a victory target of 158. Sam Northeast’s side advanced to 60 for two at stumps and go into the final day as clear favourites to win.
