Men’s cloth­ier Brooks Broth­ers sold for $325m

Brooks Broth­ers, one of the old­est fash­ion brands in the US, has been snapped up by a con­sor­tium of buy­ers. The retailer col­lapsed into bank­ruptcy pro­tec­tion last month after 200 years of sell­ing for­mal shirts and suits. Cloth­ing li­cens­ing firm Au­then­tic Brands and shop­ping cen­tre owner Si­mon Prop­erty Group paid $325m (£249m) for the as­sets, vow­ing to keep 125 stores open.
