Es­tee Lauder plans up to 2,000 global job cuts

Make-up com­pany Estée Lauder plans to cut be­tween 1,500 and 2,000 jobs across its global op­er­a­tions af­ter the coro­n­avirus pan­demic knocked cos­met­ics sales. It plans to close 10pc to 15pc of its free-stand­ing stores as cus­tomers con­tinue to shift to on­line pur­chases. Es­tee Lauder said it ex­pects to take re­struc­tur­ing and other charges of be­tween $400m (£303m) and $500m.
