Aber­crom­bie & Fitch slides in sec­ond quar­ter

Aber­crom­bie & Fitch re­vealed a sur­prise profit yes­ter­day as the ap­parel re­tailer slashed costs and ben­e­fited from a surge in on­line or­ders dur­ing the pan­demic. Dig­i­tal sales jumped 56pc in the sec­ond quar­ter of the year, boosted by higher de­mand for Aber­crom­bie’s Gilly Hicks brand’s ac­tivewear range, as well as its loungewear.
