STV re­veals loss as ad­ver­tis­ing rev­enue falls

Broad­caster STV has lost £4.9m be­fore tax in the six months to the end of June, from a £9.1m profit a year ear­lier. The com­pany said its na­tional ad­ver­tis­ing rev­enue had dropped by 23pc, worse than the re­gional per­for­mance, which was down 18pc. To­tal rev­enue fell 19pc to £44.7m, af­ter a slight in­crease in on­line sales.
