Robinson makes giant statement
Luke Robinson hopes to land the job on a permanent basis after masterminding a 29-6 victory over Wakefield in his first match as Huddersfield caretaker coach.
Robinson, 36, took charge following the departure of head coach Simon Woolford 24 hours beforehand, and could hardly have made a better start as they ended their fivematch losing run in style, Aidan Sezer scoring one of the five tries and landing four conversions.
The former Wigan, Salford and Huddersfield scrum-half joined the Giants back-room staff after injury ended his career in 2016 but has been coaching his local amateur club Siddal for the past 15 years.
“Everyone has aspirations to be a head coach and I’m just like everybody else,” Robinson said.
