Pain looms as watch­dog tastes its own medicine

The out­go­ing boss of the City watch­dog has warned of “painful lessons” as in­ves­ti­ga­tors pre­pare to pub­lish re­views into po­ten­tial reg­u­la­tory fail­ures, in­clud­ing the over­sight of Lon­don Cap­i­tal and Fi­nance, which col­lapsed with £237m of in­vestors’ money. Christo­pher Woolard, in­terim chief ex­ec­u­tive of the Fi­nan­cial Con­duct Author­ity, said: “We have more to do.”
