Wales could host games in Lon­don to raise funds

Wales will play Scot­land on Oct 31 in the fi­nal match of the post­poned Six Na­tions and Ge­or­gia on Nov 21 in the first match of the Au­tumn Na­tions Cup with­out fans at Parc y Scar­lets in Llanelli.

The Welsh Rugby Union may host the Au­tumn Na­tions Cup fix­tures – against Eng­land on Nov 28 and the play-off fi­nal on Dec 5 – in Lon­don if sup­port­ers are al­lowed to at­tend, as it would gen­er­ate in­come. “Given how vi­tal Wales games are to the fund­ing of our sport, it was only right that ev­ery op­tion was ex­plored,” said WRU chief ex­ec­u­tive Steve Phillips. “We hope that sup­port­ers will un­der­stand that we are duty bound to con­tinue to ex­plore all op­tions be­fore mak­ing a fi­nal call with re­spect to Eng­land and the Au­tumn Na­tions Cup fi­nal match.”
