Stamford Bridge loan exits
Villa want Barkley as Rudiger and Hudson-Odoi also on way out
Aston Villa’s head coach Dean Smith is ready to take Chelsea’s Ross Barkley on loan – with Antonio Rudiger and Callum Hudson-Odoi also expected to leave Stamford Bridge before the transfer window closes.
Smith has prioritised a new “No 8” as one of his final recruits and is considering a move for Barkley. Chelsea want any club to pay Barkley his full £120,000-a- week salary if they take him on loan. Villa are reluctant to agree a deal on those terms. Barkley scored in the 6-0 win against Barnsley last night.
Rudiger could also leave after being left out of both Premier League games so far. The defender and his agent will attempt to find a suitable club, with Paris St-Germain and Napoli emerging as two they are likely to try. Unconfirmed reports from Germany have linked Barcelona and Roma with a loan move.
Hudson-Odoi could finally be heading for Germany, with Bayern Munich players expecting a deal to be completed shortly. The England forward, 19, was on the bench for the season’s first two league games and Bayern are considering a season-long loan.
It is understood some of Bayern’s squad have discussed Hudson-Odoi being a target and expect a move for him.
