In support of PE
Tim Wigmore was right to point out the demise of school sport, particularly in state schools (Sept 21). As a former prep school head, I recognise the positive contribution regular PE and games lessons had on the all-round performance of the pupils.
Regular fixtures against other schools taught the participants how to win with grace and lose with dignity. The nation’s children would benefit hugely from regular physical education and games lessons.
