Moore’s handy knock as Pwll savage Conwy

RUTHLESS Pwllheli will target a sixth straight victory in the North Wales League’s 1st XI First Division when they visit Mold this Saturday.

The Llyn side made it four maximum points wins in five starts last weekend with a 10-wicket demolition of outclassed visitors Conwy at Parc Bodegroes.

Winning the toss and electing to bat, Conwy were rolled over for just 114, Sean Reilly 3-2 off 6.5 overs, Martin Jones 3-21.

Pwllheli’s response was savage. They reached 117 without loss in just 18.1 overs, Chris Moore slamming eight fours and a six in his unbeaten 57 off 54 balls, while Craig Edwards took just 49 deliveries to reach 55 no with five boundaries and two maximums.

Pwllheli seconds lost 13-2 in a highscorin­g encounter at Conwy.

The home team amassed 231-4 off 40 overs, and Pwll were restricted to 179-3, the in-form Neil Williams finishing 95 not out, Rhys Griffiths adding 42. ● Caernarfon began their season with a maximum points win at Dolgellau in North Wales League Division Two West.

Put into bat, Grant Peisley and Jason Parry got the Cofis off to a good start with an opening stand of 42 but wickets fell regularly as the visitors fell to 70-4.

Then a brutal innings of 90 off 52 balls by Barry Roberts including 14 fours and two sixes, aided by Prysor Aled (28 not out) Ian Morgan 23 and Huw Erddyn 22 helped post a formidable 235-8.

Dolgellau were rolled over for 77, Prysor Aled with a remarkable 6-25 off nine overs and Ian Morgan 2-3.
