Scooter fan with a ‘heart of gold’
A SCOOTER rider killed in an accident near Porthmadog has been named as Jacky Owen (pictured).
The 49-year-old grandmother, who collided with a lorry on the A487 shortly after 2pm on Sunday, has been remembered as having a “heart of gold”.
Her family said in a statement released on Monday: “To those who knew Jacky, she was the most loving, caring person you could ever meet.
“She was a devoted carer and would volunteer at a multiple abilities club who support vulnerable adults.”
They described Ms Owen, from the Stoke on Trent area, as “a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and doting grandmother”, adding: “Her family were everything to her.
“When not working she enjoyed music, scooters and helping people. She was very well respected in the scooter community.
“She hails from a family of bikers and had been riding scooters for the last four years.
“She enjoyed days out on the scooter and would regularly visit North Wales.
“She will be sadly missed by everyone who knew her. Our hearts are broken and life will not be the same without her.”
Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision near Dolbenmaen to come forward.
