Adder’s lunch proves hard to swallow
A FAMILY out enjoying a walk stumbled upon an adder that had bitten off more than it could chew.
Alex Saul, general manager at Greenacres Caravan Park in Morfa Bychan, and his family were in in Llyn Dinas, Gwynedd, when his daughter, Annabel, found a “snake with two tails”.
It turned out to be a young adder which has died after the bold attempt to eat a whole lizard.
The lizard also died in the struggle, with half of the creature left hanging out of the snake’s mouth.
Mr Saul said: “We observed the snake for a while to make sure it wasn’t still alive and kept it safe.
“It is not something I have ever seen before.
