Ad­der’s lunch proves hard to swal­low

A FAM­ILY out en­joy­ing a walk stum­bled upon an ad­der that had bit­ten off more than it could chew.

Alex Saul, gen­eral man­ager at Greenacres Car­a­van Park in Morfa By­chan, and his fam­ily were in in Llyn Di­nas, Gwynedd, when his daugh­ter, Annabel, found a “snake with two tails”.

It turned out to be a young ad­der which has died after the bold at­tempt to eat a whole lizard.

The lizard also died in the strug­gle, with half of the crea­ture left hang­ing out of the snake’s mouth.

Mr Saul said: “We ob­served the snake for a while to make sure it wasn’t still alive and kept it safe.

“It is not some­thing I have ever seen be­fore.
