Owen’s lone strike as Town go down

Caernarfon Herald - - MOTORS -

FFION OWEN scored a phenomenal goal for Caernarfon Town, but sadly that was the only highlight in the Canaries 10-1 defeat at Cyncoed in the Welsh Premier Women’s League.

It was a third goal of the season for captain Owen, an attacking midfielder renowned for her shooting ability. Her latest goal was a magnificent right-footer from 25 yards in the first half of last weekend’s clash in South Wales.

After three straight league defeats to start the campaign, Caernarfon will aim for better this Sunday when they host promoted side Briton Ferry Llansawel, at The Oval (2pm).

Striker Ceri Lois, who joined the Cofis shortly before the start of the season, has left after making two appearances and signed for North Wales Women’s League team Bethesda Athletic.

Catrin Thomas, Town’s top-scorer in their 2016-17 North Wales title-winning season, recently returned to Caernarfon after a short spell with Llandudno. Latest results:
