ABER Falls Whisky Whisk Distillery has just made history, by producing the first gin ever to be distilled at the top of Snowdon.

Set to ‘peak’ interest with gin connoisseurs, the one-off spirit will be auctioned off for charity.

The Aber Falls team from Abergywngregyn rose to the challenge to become the first to distill gin at 1,085 metres above sea level. They even hand-picked botanicals from the mountain on their hike to the top, to create a completely unique spirit.

With only one bottle ever to be prod produced, ced the aptly aptl named ‘Summit Gin: Mountaineers Cut’ was distilled using a one-litre traditional copper pot still.

After a two-hour distillation, Aber Falls MD James Wright, presented Wales Air Ambulance with the UK’s most exclusive gin. The money raised from its auction will go to the charity.

The activity was made possible thanks to a local collaboration between Aber Falls Whisky Distillery and Snowdon Mountain Railway
