R/GA wins John­nie Walker dig­i­tal task

John­nie Walker has ap­pointed R/GA London to han­dle its global dig­i­tal ad­ver­tis­ing.

The Di­a­geo whisky brand kicked off talks with agen­cies in April about an up­com­ing dig­i­tal project. R/GA London will now as­sist John­nie Walker on dig­i­tal and tech­nol­ogy briefs.

The move does not af­fect Anom­aly, which works on the above-the-line busi­ness. Anom­aly won the ac­count in 2014, end­ing John­nie Walker’s 15-year re­la­tion­ship with Bar­tle Bogle He­garty.

Anom­aly has cre­ated sev­eral on­line films for the brand star­ring Jude Law. In 2015, the shop de­vel­oped a global cam­paign with the tagline: “Joy will take you fur­ther.”

Carat holds Di­a­geo’s global me­dia ac­count.

Daniel Leahy, global con­tent di­rec­tor at John­nie Walker, said: “I can con­firm that R/GA is in­deed a new mem­ber of John­nie Walker’s ex­tended agency part­ner net­work.”
