Suc­cess in school ex­ams

AR­GYLL and Bute pupils tak­ing Scot­land’s new­est qual­i­fi­ca­tion achieved a 100 per cent pass rate.

1,551 Na­tional Four awards were given across the county when exam re­sults were re­vealed by the Scot­tish Qual­i­fi­ca­tions Au­thor­ity (SQA) on Tues­day.

The coun­cil’s pol­icy lead for ed­u­ca­tion, Coun­cil­lor Yvonne McNeilly, said: ‘Con­grat­u­la­tions go to all of our young peo­ple through­out Ar­gyll and Bute for their suc­cess in their ex­ams.

‘Sup­port­ing our pupils to get the best pos­si­ble out­comes is a pri­or­ity for the coun­cil and the suc­cess of these exam re­sults is down to the hard work of pupils and teach­ers, and the sup­port and en­cour­age­ment of par­ents and guardians.’

Fur­ther suc­cess, with the pass rate as a per­cent­age has been achieved as fol­lows: Na­tional 5: 3,744 awards, 81.4; Higher: 2,202 awards, 75.9; and Ad­vanced Higher: 227 awards, 77.2.
