Step aside tooth fairy – the gar­den ge­nie has left a lovely cheque

VIS­I­TORS to An Creadach gar­den at Pen­in­ver have been gen­er­ous to the tune of £500 with their do­na­tions over the last few months.

A cheque for the sum was re­cently given to Mairi Sem­ple Cancer Re­lief Fund af­ter it was ‘found’ hid­den in a fairy door in the gar­den.

This week­end, Au­gust 25-28 the gar­den will open again to com­bine with the Artmap Ar­gyll Open Stu­dios’ week­end.

Gar­den vis­its, tea and short­bread will be rais­ing money for an­other lo­cal char­ity.

Artmap, now in its 10th year, is rep­re­sented in the Camp­bel­town area by Chris­tine Russell, one of the 49 stu­dios through­out Ar­gyll, from Ap­pin to Dunoon, which will be open to vis­i­tors over the week­end.

The Artmap guide book­let is avail­able in the Tourist Of­fice.
