Special September for Fèis an Tairbeirt
BOOKINGS for Fèis an Tairbeirt’s September festival day are off to a flying start with some workshops already fully booked. Taking place on Saturday September 16, during Tarbert Music Festival, classes for eight-18-year-olds will be run in various venues around the village.
There are workshops for complete beginners to more advanced players in song, dance, drama and traditional music.
For the first time this year a special workshop for sevenyear-olds will be run alongside the main fèis. Just like the older group, the Meanbh Fèis (transition fèis) group will have four workshops with the same tutors. But the group will follow a fixed programme and the tutors will come to them in one location.
For younger children, aged 4-6, Fèis Bheag (little fèis) will run in the morning, giving the youngsters an introduction to Gaelic music and rhythms.
If anyone is over 18 and doesn’t want to miss out on the fun, the tutors will return on Sunday September 17 to run a class for adults of all abilities.
