Pupils U16s thrashed in season opener

Campbeltown Courier - - SPORT -

A POOR turnout of players made for a bitterly disappointing start to the season for Campbeltown Pupils 2002s.

The Pupils U16s were thrashed at home by Baljaffray FC Inter 2002s, after an impressive performance from the Glasgow side.

Baljaffray, who were deserving of their win, took control of the game from kick-off at the all-weather pitch and never looked back.

Not enough of the Pupils players turned up on the day and it could have been a heavier defeat if not for McKellar saving a penalty and some brave Pupils defence.

Super sportsmanship: Players and coaches shake hands at the end of the match.

Pupils player Ross Brown fights for control of the ball.

Elliot Gemmill retained the ball despite this tackle.
