Mak­ing homes warmer for win­ter

A CHAR­I­TA­BLE en­ergy ef­fi­ciency or­gan­i­sa­tion is hot­ting up to run a se­ries of af­ford­able win­ter warmth ses­sions in Kin­tyre.

In prepa­ra­tion for the colder months Ar­gyll Lomond and the Is­lands En­ergy Agency (ALIen­ergy) is run­ning a ‘But It’s Not Win­ter’ cam­paign in Kin­tyre dur­ing the last two weeks in Septem­ber.

The meet­ings will pro­mote en­ergy ef­fi­ciency and af­ford­able warmth aware­ness so peo­ple can be­gin to im­ple­ment changes to make their homes warmer for win­ter.

The cam­paign is sup­ported by Re­new­able En­ergy Sys­tems (RES), with their staff vol­un­teer­ing their time to join ALIen­ergy’s en­ergy cham­pion team.

Drop in ser­vice

A spokesper­son for ALIen­ergy said: ‘We’d like to strengthen our part­ner­ships with or­gan­i­sa­tions work­ing in Kin­tyre by of­fer­ing a drop-in ser­vice and have avail­able times and dates to of­fer ad­vice drop-ins at dif­fer­ent venues.

‘We are booked in with Kin­tyre Youth En­quiry Ser­vices on Septem­ber 27, from 12pm to 2pm and Kin­tyre Link Club, in the Com­mu­nity Ed­u­ca­tion Cen­tre, the next day at 11am.

‘If any groups are in­ter­ested in let­ting us at­tend their of­fice, venue or club please get in touch.

‘We can of­fer one-toone ad­vice as well as a work­shop out­lin­ing top tips for en­ergy ef­fi­ciency and af­ford­able warmth.’
